Swastik was a naughty kid who started playing cricket under the guidance of his father, Surendar Chikara, at the age of 5–6. His father had a dream to make his child play for the country, so he invested all his time and hard work in shaping Swastik’s career. Swastik Chikara’s father works in the Delhi Police, so it was tough for him to manage his work and coaching. Surendra Chikara has been an umpire in the Uttar Pradesh cricket association too and was a good national athlete in his young days. Whatever time he used to get after his work, he used to give training to his son and used to throw downs for hours and hours.
Family
The Chikara family’s youngest son Swastik way of life was incredibly straightforward, with a definite regimen that required him to perform certain tasks. His father and he used to receive assistance from his two sisters, Savita and Sheel Chikara, while he was practicing. His mother stays at home and she is a housewife. For the entire family, his acquisition by the Delhi Capitals was a dream come true, and all of their hard work and ambition seemed to have paid off.
Swastik is the first person from Nangala, Ghaziabad, to play for an IPL squad or a major league franchise.

Domestic Debut Of Swastik Chikara
Swastik made his list A debut against Himachal Pradesh on November 25, 2023, he scored 117 in just 101 balls on his debut and led his team to victory. This was the inning that got him recognition in senior cricket domestic, and he was called for the trials of the IPL from Delhi Capitals and two of their franchises of the Indian Premier League. Though after that hundred, Chikara couldn’t do justice to his talent and drove in 83 runs in five innings. but what he did was done with perfection.

When the IPL auction was going on on December 19, 2023, in Dubai, Chikara was not the first choice in the auction, and in the first round, no team showed interest in him. But the DC management was sure to pick talented Chikara for the future and season 2024 in the second round. Helling from Ghaziabad and being raised and played a lot of tournaments in Delhi did the trick for him as his name came in the quick auction and Delhi capitals bought him on his base price of 20 lakhs in Rs.
It was a dream-come-true moment for him and his family, especially his father, who had put in a lot of hard work and sacrifice to make him play and fulfill his dream of becoming a cricketer.
After the auction, Chikara said he is so happy to be a part of the Delhi Capitals team, and he is looking forward to learning a lot from DC management and captain Rishabh Pant. Technique:-
Opening the batting, he is well known for his playing style of quick-fire knocks. Chikara’s fundamental has been so simple: look at the ball and hit the ball accordingly. His game awareness is too high, as he chooses the bad balls too early and plays as per the merit of the ball.
He makes minor mistakes while batting since his childhood and is an artist at running the game with his running between the wickets skills. He is dominant with his bottom hand and plays most of his shots hard to avoid getting on the field.
